Parent Engagement Session: Supporting Children and Youth with AutismPresented by Veena Hayer from POPARD (Provincial Outreach Program for Autism and Related Disorders) Part 1 – Executive Functioning Skills: Many children and youth with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) struggle with executive functioning; the complex mental skills that help accomplish tasks, goals, and control behaviors. Supporting the development of executive functioning skills leads to many positive outcomes, including, but not limited to, improved emotional well-being, academic achievement, and generally more life satisfaction.
